Clinical Apothecaries succeeds in formulating new approaches to help those who did not benefit from conventional protocols of medicine. Through clinical knowledge, technology, experience, specialized pharmaceuticals and nutritional products and services, our sincere intention is to advance therapeutic outcomes and relieve our patients of their medical struggles.
As medicinal chemists, we collaborate as a team with medical professionals to alleviate or eliminate insurmountable medical issues.
Jeffrey A. Potter, RPh, Owner
Jeff initiated his collegiate studies at the University of Akron in 1986, majoring in biology and chemistry. After three years he transferred to and graduated from the University of Toledo, College of Pharmacy in 1993. He was class president for four years and graduated summa cum laude, with Honors in Pharmacology. Throughout his college years he was a non-commissioned officer in the Ohio, Army National Guard. As a Cavalry Scout he earned a number of military achievement awards and was Honorably Discharged in 1992 as a Sergeant, E-5 after 6 years of service.
Jeff is an Ohio Army National Guard Veteran and is the President and CEO of a unique, specialty pharmacy in Medina, Ohio; Clinical Apothecaries. His specialty is rooted in his knowledge and understanding of the chemistry of the body at the cellular, biochemistry level. That, paired with his pharmaceutical and medicinal chemistry skills is why he is the pharmacist many medical professionals seek when they would like a different perspective on a rare, unusual or hard to treat medical condition. One of his specialty areas is the endocrine system; namely the reproductive, thyroid and adrenal hormones. He has developed protocols and implemented coordination of care programs for a variety of medical conditions including adrenal fatigue, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, hypothyroidism, interstitial cystitis, pain management and veterinary care.
Jeff has presented on numerous health-related topics to community, special interest and professional medical organizations. He served on the board of the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists, is a past Trustee of the Ohio Pharmacists Association and was recruited to the Rules Review Committee for the Ohio Board of Pharmacy. He has been named in the Drug Topics Magazine, Honor Roll of Outstanding Pharmacists and was awarded the DuPont Pharma, Innovative Pharmacy Practice Award. Jeff was named “Pharmacist of the Month” from the Professional Compounding Centers of America and was also awarded “Preceptor of the Year” from Ohio Northern University College of Pharmacy. In 2006 Jeff was presented the “Outstanding Young Alumnus” award from the University of Toledo, College of Pharmacy for his innovative entrepreneurship. Most importantly, Jeff and his wife Christine are a blended family of six children, very similar to the “Brady Bunch”! ☺
Jamie Kelty, CPhT
Jamie has been a Certified Pharmacy Technician for over 10 years with experience in many settings including inpatient hospital pharmacy, military hospitals and retail. She is Clinical Apothecaries sterile/non-sterile chief compounding technician. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Management, minoring in Business Administration with an anticipated graduation date of December 2016. Jamie was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio but has spent nearly 9 years living in Jacksonville, North Carolina with her husband who is a United States Marine. She currently resides in Brook Park with her husband, James; daughter, Quinn; and 3 dogs Reese, Beau and Chase. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and reading.
Mike Bass, CPhT
Mike is the Non-Sterile Compounding Technician at Clinical Apothecaries. Mike Bass grew up in Brecksville, Ohio, but spent 2 years living in Portland, Oregon, where he loved being in the mountains and the great outdoors, experiencing life to its fullest. He graduated from Kent State University, where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Commercial Recreation (Athletic Director). He has work experience in different aspects of the pharmacy field, ranging from retail to compounding. He is very driven within this field and proud to have gained so much experience, knowledge and expertise to maintain his Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification. He has a passion for helping people and ensuring they get well. He has maintained a healthy active lifestyle by participating in numerous physical fitness activities, ranging from triathlons and biathlons to obstacle courses and running races. He also enjoys playing his guitars and being around a variety of animals.
Our receptionist, Pat, will be one of the first smiling faces you see when you come to our pharmacy. She has lived in Ohio her entire life, most of it here in Medina County. After graduating from high school, Pat was a secretary for a government agency before becoming a stay-at-home Mom. When she returned to the workforce she was a classroom aide in her local school district then joined our staff where she has been for the last several years. Pat loves the Lord Jesus Christ and her wonderful husband, Jim, to whom she has been married for 40-plus years. Together they have raised three awesome children, Jennifer, Jonathan, and Jody, and now they have been blessed with precious grandchildren. Their active Jack Russell Terrier keeps them busy, but in her spare time Pat likes to read and scrapbook. Our receptionist wants you to know that she truly cares about our patients and loves learning about their lives and their families.
Wendy Erdos Padgett, R.Ph.
Wendy is excited to join the Clinical Apothecaries team as a pharmacist specializing in veterinary medicine to continue her career in animal health. She began her education at The Ohio State University with an interest in chemistry and animal sciences. She focused on a pharmacy degree with special rotations at OSU Veterinary Hospital and the Columbus Zoo. Upon graduation, Wendy accepted a position as a pharmacist for Medco Services in Columbus, Ohio and Spokane, Washington. An opportunity as Director of Pharmacy at Washington State University Veterinary Hospital allowed Wendy to refocus on veterinary compounding and animal health. During these years, Wendy gained extensive experience working with veterinarians and formulating medications.
Wendy has been a lifelong equestrian with participation as a youth in local 4-H and Bath Pony Club. She has continued to support the local horse community and gives her time to help Bath Pony Club, where her daughters are now active members. Bath has been home to Wendy for 15 years, where she enjoys her farm with her two daughters, five horses, four cats, and two dogs.
Tawney L. Smith, CPhT
A 2008 honors graduate of Remington College (Cleveland West), Tawney has a passion for veterinary pharmaceuticals. Having been her Alma Mater’s first student to extern (and subsequently employed) for the prestigious Animal Clinic Northview, in North Ridgeville, she has now brought her vet compounding skills to CAIRx where she enjoys the opportunity to help animals from all over the state.
Tawney currently lives in North Ridgeville where she cares for her mother, Freda, and their two dogs, Penelope Grace (the pug) and Jacquie Joon (the shih tzu). She loves to cook and says; “You just can’t go wrong with a home-made taco.”
